The Caregiver's Journal
We have days that become milestones: The day we start our first job, we marry, we welcome children into our lives.
When we care for a family member, we also experience days of significance: The day our family member receives a diagnosis, the day we realize we need help, the first night we spend with our caree in the Emergency Room, the day our caree starts hospice care and all the days in between.
On these caregiving days, we can feel alone as we feel our world shift.
To help lessen the loneliness of these days, Lance A. Slatton, co-host of The Caregiver’s Journal, and Cindy and Christina of AECorner, invite family caregivers to join them to share the stories of their significant days.
The Caregiver's Journal shines a spotlight on the stories of family caregivers from around the world. The show also builds connections within the caregiving community, provides family caregivers a platform to share their valuable experiences and reduces the sense of isolation often experienced during a caregiving journey.
You can tune in to The Caregiver's Journal on AllHomeCareMatters.com, YouTube, and various streaming platforms.

Chapter 6 "Finding Care"
The Caregiver's Journal is the show where we are sharing the caregiving experiences, stories, and wisdom of family caregivers. In this journal entry, we welcomed Michelle Stevens, who shared her caregiving journey and how she is "Finding Care".
Cindy, PT
Cindy graduated in 1992 with a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Washington University in St Louis, MO. The majority of her career has been spent in Home Healthcare. She is passionate about helping people maintain their independence, especially when it makes a difference in their ability to remain in their homes.
Christina, ST
Christina graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Master’s degree in Communication Disorders & Science. She spent most of her career treating patients in skilled nursing facilities. She enjoys working with individuals who have dementia and educating their families. She also likes helping people who have difficulty eating, chewing, and swallowing due to illness or disease.
Adaptive Equipment & Caregiving Corner (AECorner) was birthed based on a conversation between two home health therapists, Cindy and Christina while traveling back from a Christmas visit. They reflected on the recurring questions they received from family caregivers. Witnessing their struggles firsthand, Cindy and Christina understood a simple truth: the desire to keep loved ones safe and independent at home. They recognized that equipping these caregivers with the right knowledge could be the key to achieving this goal.
Fueled by this vision, Cindy and Christina established AECorner in 2015. Their combined expertise empowers AECorner to cater to diverse needs within the caregiving community.
AECorner's mission is to raise awareness of adaptive equipment and provide resources for safe aging at home. Their collaboration with Lance Slatton, a fellow caregiver advocate, through the co-hosted "Caregiver's Journal" podcast further amplifies their mission. Together, they share their passion and knowledge, aiming to empower caregivers on a broader scale.
