About Songs & Smiles
Songs & Smiles began as a 2017 birthday party fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Association, organized by founders Eric and Sheryl Kolb in honor of Sheryl’s mom, Trish. Following Trish’s passing in 2019, Eric and Sheryl established Songs & Smiles as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit to support those affected by Alzheimer’s.
With firsthand experience, they provide practical help and encouragement to caregivers through singalongs, educational resources, and more. The mission of Songs & Smiles is to keep families connected during the Alzheimer’s journey, reducing isolation and fostering joy through shared experiences.

Songs & Smiles provides joy and connection for those living with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers through various programs:
- Singalongs: In-person shows at care facilities in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and a free online library of singalong videos.
- Community Singalongs: Free public events offering at-home caregivers and their loved ones uplifting music and laughter.
- Joyful Memories: A magazine designed for people living with dementia, available nationwide.
- Caregiver Resources: Workshops, articles, and free distribution of helpful books and DVDs to caregivers across the country.
Our Mission
Songs & Smiles supports individuals facing the challenges of Alzheimer's, both those living with the disease and their caregivers. Caregivers often face increased health risks, but with proper training and support, they experience lower stress and better health, enabling them to provide better care.
Our Vision
We aim to keep families connected during the Alzheimer’s journey by providing joy through programs like singalongs to evoke positive emotions. We also offer community singalongs and 'Joyful Memories' magazine nationwide, caregiver resources, articles, and free distribution of books and DVDs.
