All Home Care Matters was honored to welcome three members of the Aging Life Care Association, also known as ALCA.
Steven Barlam, MSW, LCSW, CMC is the Chief Executive Officer, JFS Care at Home.
Over the last 35 years, Steve has worked exclusively in the field of geriatric care management. His experience draws from his work in the nonprofit family services arena, at Jewish Family Service (JFS) as well as from his own private for-profit care management practice, Senior Care Management, and from his work as a founder and leader of a national Care Managed Home Care solutions firm, LivHOME, now AROSA.
Steve is a Certified Care Manager (CMC) and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Steve earned his master’s degree from UC Berkeley. Steve is a recognized leader in the field of geriatric care management and is professionally active as a speaker and writer. He is currently the Secretary/Treasurer on the Board of the national Aging Life Care Association and had served as the President of that Association as well.
Debra Feldman, MSW, LCSW, CMC is owner at Debra D. Feldman & Associates, Ltd.
Debra Feldman is a licensed and insured clinical social worker. She received her Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan in December 1984, and her B.A. in Psychology and Sociology from Washington University in St. Louis in May 1983.
Trained as a social worker, Debra began her career as an Aging Life Care™ Manager in 1988, and in 1991, she established her own company, Debra D. Feldman & Associates, Ltd.
Debra acquired her Certification as a Care Manager through the National Academy of Certified Care Managers in 1998. She is a member of Aging Life Care™ Association (formerly the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers); the National Association of Social Workers; the National Guardianship Association; and the Exclusive Professional Women’s Networking Group of which she is currently serving on the Board.
Debra is Past President (2023) for the Aging Life Care Association (ALCA). She has been on ALCA’s national bord since 2018, including as Secretary-Treasurer (2020) and President-Elect (2022). In addition, she served two consecutive terms as President of the Midwest Chapter of the Aging Life Care Association (2013-2016) and was an active Midwest Chapter Board member from 2009-2012.
Outside of the Aging Life Care Association, Debra leads a monthly Alzheimer’s disease caregiver support group (2015-present) at Belmont Village in Glenview. She is a volunteer member on the Brain Health and Memory Loss Advisory Board and on the Health and Wellness Committee for The Village Chicago (2017-present).
Malika Moore, MSW, LICSW, LCSW-C is the founder, Aging & Amazing, LLC.
Malika Moore is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the District of Columbia and Maryland. She has over 10 years of experience as a professional, clinician, public speaker, and business owner and has a genuine passion for older adults and caregivers. Malika’s work in behavioral health, community education, and healthcare prepared her for her current venture of serving the aging population, their caregivers, and professionals who specialize in aging. Malika has served in several different capacities in her professional career, including clinician, geriatric care manager, medical social worker, psychotherapist, support group facilitator, and adjunct professor.
Malika has transformed her passion into purpose that is deeply rooted in her professional knowledge as a licensed social worker. Aging & Amazing has evolved to allow her skills as a broker and advocate to bring together likeminds, talents, and even struggles to produce positive possibilities. She is passionate about working with the most vulnerable populations and has worked with individuals across lifespan and social demographics to provide these vital services to the community. Malika is a leader who enjoys uplifting and inspiring others. Malika holds dearly and values her family and friends and is personally invested in ensuring we all know that it is possible to live and be Aging & Amazing!
