About AlzAuthors
AlzAuthors is a global community created by caregivers who understand the challenges of Alzheimer’s and dementia firsthand. Founded by six daughters who each lost a loved one to the disease, AlzAuthors now enters a new chapter under the leadership of Lance A. Slatton of All Home Care Matters, bringing over 20 years of healthcare experience and a nationally recognized voice in long-term care.
With more than 350 authors sharing their stories through books, blogs, podcasts, and creative projects, AlzAuthors provides carefully reviewed resources designed to support, educate, and encourage caregivers and families.
We know what it feels like to be forgotten.
We’ve witnessed the progression of dementia.
We’ve spent countless hours providing care.
And we believe that sharing our stories can change lives.
A New Era for AlzAuthors
As the new President of AlzAuthors, Lance and the entire team at All Home Care Matters are honored to carry forward the incredible work established by Founders Jean Lee, Vicki Tapia, and Marianne Sciucco. Lance is deeply committed to upholding the organization’s core values, ensuring that AlzAuthors remains a trusted resource and a supportive sanctuary for the dementia community.
“My team and I are incredibly excited to support the talented authors, the AlzAuthors community, and all those affected by dementia,” Lance says. “We look forward to expanding the reach of these vital stories and continuing the mission of comfort and connection that Jean, Vicki, and Marianne started.”
In addition to his work with AlzAuthors, Lance is the author of The All Home Care Matters Official Family Caregivers’ Guide and serves as a Senior Case Manager at Enriched Life Home Care Services in Livonia, Michigan. His contributions to the field have been recognized with numerous accolades, including being named a “50 Under 50” honoree and a Top Influencer in Healthcare and Advocacy.
How It All Began
In 2015, authors Marianne Sciucco, Jean Lee, and Vicki Tapia connected through social media after reading one another’s books about caregiving and dementia. Realizing the strength of collaboration, they began writing together and promoting their work to support other caregivers. By 2016, they launched a blog designed to gather Alzheimer’s and dementia resources in one central place. Authors from around the world were invited to share the “story behind their story,” and in the first year, more than 60 writers joined the community.
