It is about prevention, early detection, communication, and helping individuals remain as healthy and independent as possible.<\/p>\n<p>About Dr. Hussen Amen, MD:<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Hussen Amen is a board-certified family medicine physician and the founder of Amen Family Medicine, an independent primary care practice in Livonia, Michigan.<\/p>\n<p>A Metro Detroit native who grew up in Dearborn, Dr. Amen earned his bachelor&#8217;s degree in Nutrition and Food Science from Wayne State University before receiving his medical degree from St. George&#8217;s University School of Medicine. He completed his Family Medicine residency at Trinity Health Livonia, where he continues to maintain hospital privileges.<\/p>\n<p>Living with Type 1 diabetes since childhood has given Dr. Amen a unique perspective on the patient experience and the importance of preventive, relationship-centered care.<\/p>\n<p>His clinical interests include preventive medicine, chronic disease management, sports medicine, and point-of-care ultrasound.
