When your loved one is diagnosed with dementia, you might feel lost and overwhelmed. Still, your loved one needs your support and encouragement as they face this difficult time. It makes sense \u2013 the physical care can be quite taxing, between feeding, bathing, clothing, and everything else. Not to mention, it\u2019s difficult to be emotionally present for a person with dementia \u2013 especially when it reaches the more severe stages. Emotional outbursts, difficulty speaking, and changes in personality can all be barriers in helping a person to emotionally connect.
